Staff at Front Range Internet goes to CAMP!

FORT COLLINS, CO -- September 1, 2005 -- Front Range Internet, Inc. (FRII), one of Colorado's largest Internet service providers, sent its staff of 50 (including the CEO and leadership team) to Camp Attitude this month. In an effort to perk up the company's internal communication, FRII hired a company called Lean On Me to bring in fresh ideas.

For three days, the staff at FRII worked with Francie Koehmstedt, owner of Lean On Me Executive Assistance to really understand the roles of every individual and department... seeing the bigger picture, and respecting everyone's part in it. Funny names, teaming diverse departments to win silly games, serious conversations about real FRII projects, feather boas and problem-solving discussions made up Camp Attitude.

"I'm a FRII customer. They've always been there for me and I think the world of them. So when the chance came up to bid on their internal trainings, I jumped at it. We're both growing companies so I understand the challenges that come with expansion," says Koehmstedt, who has spent years working with companies like Woodward Governor, McWhinney Enterprises, and The Clements Company, to polish executive administrators and customer service reps, improve internal communication and boost efficiencies.

"FRII has a quick, brilliant, intensely intelligent culture. They kept me running! I worked with them to recognize why and how to build relationships between departments. Communication cannot happen without relationships. Camp Attitude takes people out of their element or norm and makes everyone equal-just like when you show up for camp as a child...no one knows anyone else; all are vulnerable and open minded."

"We learned a lot from our three days with Francie. And have even taken her advice and assigned some internal 'camp directors' to make sure we keep the positive effects moving forward," says Brad Ward, Executive Vice President at FRII. "We are quickly becoming known as a great place to work. Efforts like this to constantly improve communication, efficiency and morale, fall into the FRII philosophy of how we value our staff."
