Wireless Internet
A 3" x 11" antenna is mounted on the customer's roof. This connects to a
base station that is within 2-3 miles. A dish may be used to extend this
distance. The link between the antenna and the base station uses
authentication and encryption to ensure the security of the connection.
An ethernet cable is connected to the antenna and goes to a jack that is
created in the customer's home. A surge suppressor and grounding is used
to protect against lightning or static discharges.
One computer can be plugged directly into the wall jack or a router can
be used for home networking. Customers are not charged on a per-computer
basis and can setup as complex a network as necessary*.
